Welcome to Melville Junction's online home.
Somewhere around 64 AD the apostle Peter wrote to the
church in a corner of Asia Minor and reminded them of their identity as
"a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to
God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness
into his wonderful light" (1 Peter 2:9). We are convinced that we
form part of God's royal priesthood, his holy nation, and so here we are
2000 years later at the bottom end of Africa working out what it means to
be God's people and to declare his praises. If you're already part of the
MJ family we're thrilled to have you with us on the journey.
If you're not yet part of the family we'd love for you to join us.
The church building is at 41 7th Avenue,
Melville (corner 7th Avenue and 5th Street).
Our Sunday meetings begin at 9:30 and 18:30 with Kidzone
(Sunday school for primary school-aged children) running
during the morning meetings. We also get together as a church
to pray every Thursday evening from 18:45 to 19:30. Our prayer
meetings are followed by Prov 9:9, our weekly training session
open to everyone in the church, from 20:00 to 21:30 every Thursday.
Finally, the whole church meets in small groups in homes across the
greater Melville area every Tuesday evening from about 19:30.
Check out the What We Do section for more information on these and
other meetings.
